In 2 Timothy 2:2, St. Paul seeks to train Timothy to continue his work. He tells Timothy, “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” FOCUS is committed to the New Evangelization, but we don’t see this as work just for us. Inherent in the mission of FOCUS is the desire to transfer to others the work that we are doing. Just as St. Paul instructs St. Timothy, we want to teach teachers how to teach. We believe that not only is this a biblical method but also is the most effective method for reaching the world for Jesus Christ and His Church.

This mission is more than just about the story of FOCUS. It is also about your story—what you are doing and how you are sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Answering Blessed John Paul II’s call for the New Evangelization is not just the job of the clergy or a special group of missionaries. It’s a call for all of us.

There is a growing movement of Catholics who have taken this call to heart. The goal of the FOCUSequip website is to create a place where this movement can learn, share, and grow. FOCUSequip takes its purpose from Ephesians 4:12, “to equip the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” We want to equip you and we also want to create a website where you can equip others and give feedback from your experience and insights.

Look around the site. Find what might be helpful to you and share what you think would be helpful to others.

May God bless your efforts!
